A couple of cutting boards out of walnut and maple, built as quick Christmas gifts. A good project when you want something that looks like real effort but doesn’t eat your whole week.
Gluing up the stock
Each board starts as a glue-up of walnut and maple strips, done as two separate panels.
Cutting to shape and clamping the border
Once the glue-ups are solid, each board gets cut to its final shape and the border strips get clamped on.
Sanding and finish
Edges get sanded and rounded over last, so the boards are comfortable to actually use, not just look at.
